Rep. Stephens delivers check for road construction to Vandalia

Vandalia….Representative Ron Stephens (R-Highland) was happy to deliver a check for $100,000 to the city of Vandalia for road construction projects on Friday.

Mayor Rick Gottman accepted the oversized check at a brief ceremony at city hall.

The grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation will be used to reimburse Vandalia for costs associated with the constructed extension of Veterans Avenue (currently known as Mattes Avenue) from Randolph Street to Main Street.
